Rail

There is a railway station located in central Inverness which connects to the Far North Line which terminates in  Thurso.

Inverness is accessible by train from Glasgow, Edinburgh and London in the South (including sleeper services), Aberdeen in the east, Thurso in the north, and Kyle of Lochalsh in the west. Travelling by train is one of the most relaxing and scenic ways to reach the Higlands – most trains will also happily carry your bike (although you do need to pre book).
